13 September – Representatives of several Indian diaspora organizations in the United States have rejected the Hindutva policies of the Modi-led BJP government in India and demanded equal rights for Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Christians in the country.
Speaking at a zoom conference titled ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’, the participants criticized acting US ambassador Atul Keshap’s meeting with the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-the para military force behind extremist Hindutva ideology.
The speakers termed the meeting a legitimization and normalization of a fascistic organization involved in countless acts of violence against Indian minorities. They urged the US government to disavow any associations with the RSS and give an explanation for the ambassador’s meeting with the RSS chief.
